Peter Eastgate auctioned off his WSOP 2008 Main Event bracelet last week on ebay for $147,500, a final price that was the result of 116 different bids with 100% of the proceeds going to UNICEF (United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, a charity that provides humanitarian assistance to mothers and children in developing nations.
Eastgate comments, “Of course, I am still extremely proud of my title to this day. But the bracelet itself, I am never wearing, since I really don’t wear any jewelry. So I thought that by giving away the bracelet and watches, a lot more people will hopefully be able to benefit from the items.”
Tony G actually got in on the bidding, but was hoping to nab the bracelet for around $17,500. Shortly after Eastgate listed his bracelet, Paul “Eskimo” Clark, put his 1999 WSOP bracelet on ebay, but his only sold for $4,050 after just 15 bids. It was unclear if these proceeds would benefit charity or not.
Now also up for sale is Eastgate’s WSOP 2008 Final Table Corum timepiece listed at $7,000 with free shipping. While all proceeds from this auction will also go to UNICEF, it has not garnered any bids with only 1 day and a half left on the auction. View the watch listing here.
