After Doyle Brunson elected his prestigious Brunson 10 professional poker team, one of the members has withdrawn himself from the club. Alec “traheho” Torelli has relinquished the honor of playing on the poker team of one of the most legendary poker players to ever play the game. His reason being that he simply wishes to focus on another project.
The team was established to represent DoylesRoom.com globally at offline poker tournaments and includes other members, Amit “amak316” Makhija, Dani “ansky” Stern, and Zachary “CrazyZachary” Clark. Twenty-one-year-old, Torelli, who is from Orange County, has won about $1.6 million at land-based and online poker events and had just been invited to join the Brunson 10 back in July of 2009. Later in September of that same year, Chris “moorman1” Moorman also joined the team.
Confirming the report, DoylesRoom.com released the following statement: “DoylesRoom.com confirmed that they are not renewing their contract with Alec Torelli. The online poker player is moving on to another project. Since launching the Brunson 10, Doyle Brunson and the poker room that bears his name have been bombarded by poker players looking to sign with DoylesRoom.com including a number of players who already have contracts with other poker sites.”
According to this statement, it seems that this club is one of the most sought after contracts around, and this project that Torelli has chosen over his contract with Brunson must be some undertaking. This elite group of what Brunson calls the “Future Legends of Poker” is currently only four members now that Torelli is gone, leaving six spots left to fill. Brunson, who has been playing poker for more than 50 years, has hand-picked these young guns to follow in his footsteps as legends in the making. Collectively, they’ve made more than $8 million playing poker.
If you want to try your hand at beating these guys, you can register for the Beat the Brunson 10 tourneys that run on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month at 9:00 p.m. ET.
