A new web-only poker show, “Inside Deal,” has just been released that will showcase the World Series of Poker like never before. The first show aired on August 4, and it air weekly on ESPN.com. Co-hosted by Laura Lane, ESPN The Magazine contributor, Bernard Lee, professional poker player and ESPN.com columnist, and Andrew Feldman, ESPN.com poker editor, the show, which average about 40 minutes per episode, will feature some of the biggest names in poker. In addition, it will cover weekly news in poker, political updates in the fight to legalize and regulate online poker, and offer a peek in to the poker lifestyle.
The show will run for three months and conclude upon the culmination of the WSOP Main Event in November. In the mean time, each of the nine Main Event players will be highlighted and interviewed. In addition, the show will feature some never before seen plays from the WSOP, as well as some of the most thrilling and disturbing moments from poker’s biggest tournament.
What really makes this project exciting though, is the interactive quality that it features, allowing fans to be part of the interview process by submitting questions to the poker pros via email, Facebook, and on Twitter. This ought to be interesting!
There will also be a sweepstakes for fans that will award one winner the opportunity to experience the Main Event in person.
The first show featured Chris Moneymaker, WSOP 2003 Main Event champ, and the second episode, which has already aired this week, includes interviews from Dennis Phillips and Jeffrey Pollack, WSOP Commissioner.
