The Cake Poker Network and Phil “The Unabomer” Laak, poker pro, have announced the launch of a new site on the network, Unabomber Poker, named for Laak, himself. Laak will be in the frontline of the action with his own blog that will be showcased on the new site.
Laak comments on his new sites, “We knew we wanted to launch the sickest poker site possible. By joining a network that focuses on player rewards and accepts players worldwide, we knew we would be starting out on the right track. I love getting involved from the ground up.”
A spokesperson for Cake Poker Network added, “The addition of Unabomber Poker to the Cake Network is a cause for great excitement. Phil’s enthusiasm for the game is infectious and brings a great energy to the network.”
Unabomber Poker will feature the same great perks that other Cake Poker Network sites feature including the Gold Cards, Gold Chips, the monthly $250K Guaranteed, and free network tourneys.
Laak is already one of the most popular poker pros thanks to his great success and enthusiastic demeanor. He’s been known to talk to his cards and offer opponents buy-outs to see their hands. Called “The Unabomber” for his hoodie and sunglasses he wears at the tables, Laak resembles Ted Kaczynski, the original Unabomber. He’s also won more than $1.8 million in poker tournaments and is the long-time boyfriend of fellow poker pro, Jennifer Tilly. It’s no doubt to the industry that the new Unabomber Poker will be a fun and lively spot to play poker online.
In addition, Cake Poker has also revealed that they will add seven other new poker rooms to the network including Redback Poker, Amsterdams Poker, 7Win Poker, Safari Poker, Rags2Riches Poker, Dimeline Poker, and Burro Poker.
With the eight new rooms, CPN will now consist of 55 online poker rooms that include some of the biggest online poker brands in the industry such as DoylesRoom and Lock Poker, in addition to Gutshot.com and PokerHost. Over the last few years, CPN has really grown averaging 2,100 real-money cash game players at any given time. They are now in the top ten in terms of cash game traffic, according to PokerScout.com, industry tracking site.
