Sentanta Sports, an Irish sports network, comparable to ESPN, announced recently that they will launch a new online poker site, Sentantabets.com that would be under the management of ChiliPoker. Promotion of the new site will be a joint effort between SentantaBets and ChiliPoker, which will be launched around the first of February, 2010.
Founder of Malta-based ChiliGaming, Alexandre Dreyfus, has said, “I am very proud and ambitious about our new partnership with Setanta. We are going to deliver both Setanta’s and Chili’s spirit to our players. In addition to the online betting, we will jointly promote Chilipoker in Ireland and will become the new premium home for Irish poker players.”
Sentanta Sports co-founder, Michael O’Rourke, also spoke of the new enterprise, commented, “The new partnership with Chiligaming showcases the potential for a media organization to target its own audience with its own gaming product.”
Since 2004, ChiliPoker has provided reliable online gaming service to most of Europe. Their plan is to take the Irish market by storm, in hopes of entering into this large market base of potential poker players. They also have plans to tap into the French online gaming industry, once France’s deregulation policies are worked out and have been implanted in place, partnering also with a company called Illiad, which is a French Internet service provider.
Because there are so many online poker rooms on the market today, it takes a good business strategy for an online poker company to excel in the industry and come out alive at the end of the day. ChiliGaming realizes this and is taking action to do just that. It’s got to be hard for the little guys to compete with such forces of nature as Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars, and PartyPoker and with the US market so insecure, European nations are the perfect target for massive campaigns to encourage more players to join, who otherwise might not ever take the plunge.
