Nevada approves PokerTek tables

Written by Stefan | Friday, March 27th, 2009

PokerTek, Inc. and its automated poker tables have been approved for distribution in Nevada by the state’s regulators last week.

PokerTek is expanding on this approval to pave its way and presence in Nevada, which is now home to almost 1,000 poker tables.

PokerTek’s CEO Chris Halligan said, “We are delighted to be approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission,”. “Nevada is one of the most important gaming markets in the world and its regulatory processes are stringent and challenging. To receive approval from Nevada is a huge milestone for our company and our product.”

PokerPro has been conducting its field trial at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas for the past six months, the home of 12 tables installed in Excalibur’s poker room.

Excalibur has become the hub for the low stakes Pot Limit Omaha on the Vegas Strip, due to the PokerPro computerized tables. PokerPro is being leveraged by Excalibur to offer their players a $3 rake on all $1/2 No Limit Texas Hold’em games, together with their Limit Hold’em table games.

The fully automated Excalibur poker room is running a Super 64 heads-up tournament on PokerPro, just in time with the NCAA basketball championships started as of last weekend.

PokerTek’s Vice President of Sales, Robert Perry said, “Since we started field trial in Nevada, we’ve had tremendous interest from prospects around the state,” “Thanks to this approval, we’re now able to grow the footprint of automated poker in the Silver State.”

The only automated poker table approved in the state of Nevada is PokerPro, as it provides operators of a highly new ideology and lower expense method of providing poker to their clients. Players stand to gain with PokerPro as they significantly increasing hands by the hour, showing hand histories and offering innovative options that are not possible on manual tables and eliminating the dealer / player mistakes.

The headquarters of PokerTek, the developer of the Poker Pro table, are in Matthews North Carolina. They also develop and market products for the industry of casino and amusement venues.

The aim behind PokerTek developing PokerPro automated poker tables and related software applications was to elevate casino income, minimise the expenses and attract new patrons into their poker rooms. All this whilst offering new interactive poker that is speedy, effective, fun and most important mistake-free.
