JJ Prodigy Banned Once More for using Multiple Poker Accounts

Written by Marcus | Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

Online poker player Josh Fields, better known as JJ Prodigy, had confessed and apologized in December 2007 for his actions back then as he earned a ban from PokerStars and PartyPoker for multi-accounting. Now, JJ prodigy is showing he is a man who definitely does not learn from mistakes made.

In fact no, he’ s in trouble again as he made a post on twoplustwo.com where he mentioned more than once how he had been playing on online poker sites since the underage of 15, which is illegal. He was silly enough to make this confession as he was about to reach the legal age to begin playing live events.

Many of his poker peers were not keen about the timing of this announcement as they believed that it was just JJ making an attempt to get back into the good graces of the poker community just before his first live participation. This became a very a highly publicized post. Even though he had vowed to change the public perception of him, he still ended up being seen as insincere.

He then moved on to try his luck at the live tournaments, such as the Aussie Millions and PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. But PokerStars imposed the ban and he was denied entry into the PCA. Not even a year later, in September of 2008, he was once again caught cheating online and this developed into another ban.

“I would also love to say that I am not the poker god that I tend to be talked up to be on the forums … It is unfair how highly I am looked upon as a poker player as well. No one should ever get some of the praises I get … I assure you I will do everything in my power to amend my past and move on to a more ethical, aware, and self-understanding future.” Were JJ Prodigy’s words as a new apology post found online.

Last February, Cake Poker also banned Fields after he multi-accounted for the 3rd time running. This goes to show that online poker sites are taking cheating seriously nowadays and are managing to get to the problematic players who choose to give themselves that extra edge over their competition rather than playing the honest game.
Rumour has it that JJ is coming up with a new apology for the umpteenth time now, and this time it has to be a real good one as no one would actually believe him at this point.
