The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has announced a multi-year sponsorship deal with Jack Link’s Beef Jerky. After two successful years, the new contract carves in stone to the continuation of Jack Link’s as the presenting sponsor of the biggest and richest live poker event in the world, the WSOP, with the tag line “Presented by Jack Link’s Beef Jerky.”
Director of Marketing for Jack Link’s Beef Jerky, Jeff LeFever, says, “Poker is entertaining, unpretentious, unpredictable and full of fun and camaraderie among friends. The same attributes can be used to describe the Jack Link’s brand.” He continues, “Winning a World Series of Poker bracelet is the ultimate accomplishment and we’re proud to partner with the best in the business to help deliver the biggest, most exciting poker experience in the world.”
Next year marks the 42nd annual WSOP, which will kick off again at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Vegas on May 30, 2011. The contract covers the 42nd and 43rd WSOP, culminating after the 43rd Main Event in November 2012. This partnership is one of the biggest event sponsorships that the Jack Link’s brand is affiliated with and serves as a major part of their advertising strategy, as they go all out each year to put together an entertaining campaign that ties poker in with beef jerky.
In 2009, the Jack Link’s brand brought Sasquatch, who grunted “Shuffle Up and Deal” and then in 2009, the slogan read, “Stack Jacks Go Wild.” To go along with the campaign, came funny ESPN vignettes that featured the Sasquatch, who found himself in random WSOP situations. WSOP VP Ty Stewart comments, “This remains a great fit between two category-leading brands. We couldn’t ask for a better organization to be our lead sponsor. We love being with a market dominator that shares our sense of fun and irreverence.”
Jack Link’s, the #1 beef jerky brand in the US and fastest growing meat snack producer in the world, will be featured through the tourney area at the Rio during the series. In addition, Jack Link’s will sponsor 32 hours of ESPN broadcasting with advertising featuring “Jack Link’s Wild Card Hand.”
