If you don’t have a date for Valentine’s Day, you can tune into the 6th season premiere of Game Show Network’s High Stakes Poker. The airing will be the culmination of an 8-hour “I Love Poker” marathon which will feature some of the all-time greatest episodes of High Stakes Poker seasons 1 through 5.
Part-time pro poker player and industry reporter, Kara Scott, will join the show as co-host of season 6 with Gabe Kaplan, long-time voice of High Stakes Poker. The February 14th episode promises a world renowned lineup of poker champs, cash game experts, and impressive up-and-comers. The show will feature a made over appearance that will allow viewers to see right into the action, airing at 8:00 p.m. ET. The show will air in this time slot every Sunday and replay at 11:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. ET on Sundays/early Monday mornings, as well.
Everyone is excited about Scott joining the cast of the show, as she is known globally for her journalism within the poker industry, especially in Europe, where she hosted the European Poker Tour in both 2007 and 2008. She was the only female to finish in the money in the 2008 and 2009 WSOP Main Events and came in 2nd place in the 2009 Irish Open, so she’s not new to the game. She’ll be reporting form the HSP suite at the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, along with interviewing guest players about strategy and getting their first-hand accounts on fated hands following significant plays.
The minimum cash buy-in for HSP is $200,000, making High Stakes Poker the premiere cash game in all of televised poker history. Season six will feature such legendary players such as Phil Ivey, Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Mike Matusow, Dennis Phillips, and Barry Greenstein, as well as all the biggest young guns in poker, Patrik Antonius, Tom Dwan, and David Benyamine.
