Facebooker’s, pay attention. Social gaming has been on the rise on the Internet and in everyday settings, bars, restaurants, and even basements. For social gaming on the internet, Zynga is the way to go. Zynga has just teamed up with Facebook and The World Series of Poker. You can play Texas Hold’em absolutely free, on Zynga’s Facebooks application.
You can play with over 12 million other people making this Facebook’s top application. In addition, you can compete for one of two seats to the 2009 WSOP. Imagine a chance to go big time, win big money, be on TV, and meeting all the pros you could imagine. Look for the Shootout Tournaments on the Facebook app; these are the games that you need to play to enter to win the grand prize.
“We built our Texas Hold’em Poker game into the largest game on Facebook by keeping an eye on what is important to our players,” said Mark Pincus, CEO of Zynga. “We know that poker is a lifestyle which includes playing online and offline, and watching it on TV. This partnership is an opportunity to bring those worlds together.”
“Any poker player knows the Holy Grail is to win the Main Event of the World Series of Poker,” says Craig Abrahams, WSOP VP. “Now for the first time, we’re reaching fans in a new way, through Zynga’s platform. Players from all over the world can play the free Texas Hold’Em game from the convenience of their own living rooms, and win a seat to the biggest poker tournament in the world.”
June 8 marks the start of the Shootout tournaments that will continue through June 22. Out of those of you playing in the Shootout, 18 will be randomly selected for the finals. The final showdown will be held June 29 and 30. The winners will be flown to Vegas, put up for three nights at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino. Winners will also receive a back stage pass to tour to the WSOP, and all day VIP passes to the player’s lounge. So while on Facebook check out the Texas Hold’em app, you never know what may happen.
