There are some updates following the recent news we launched about the downed eChecks program affecting most major gaming sites. Finally, a solution has been found as we have seen that on AbsolutePoker.com and UtlimateBet.com, which form part of the Cereus Poker Network have begun accepting the eChecks again. Being such a major network in gaming and known to be one of the best sites when it comes to depositing, we are not surprised that the Cereus network is leading the way in bringing the eCheck deposit back on the online radar.
With the eCheck poker deposits used as a very popular deposit option, this refers to electronic checks and does not refer to any particular electronic check processor. When the system was down, it was very limiting for all the online gaming communities, thus causing a lot of speculation and questions.
News is still uncertain if other sites such as PokerStars and Full Tilt will also be able to recuperate the eCheck deposit method onto their networking systems. This all goes in favour of the aforementioned, AbsolutePoker.com and UtlimateBet.com as they will be taking advantage of the current situation and the opportunities generated for them to take over a large portion of market share amongst the eCheck poker players.
The reason behind these eCheck deposits issues are still uncertain as many have raised concerns that they believe the UIGEA and the US Attorney General’s Office lie at the centre of this problem. In fact, as we had mentioned before, that this is not the first time a problem with the eCheck deposits has come about.
In 2006, when the UIGEA was initially passed through the security bill, eChecks were affected harshly through the strong and thorough regulations that had been placed upon the financial institutions when processing these payments. It was reported that the eCheck deposit was unusable for months at a stretch and some of the poker rooms never recuperated after that and did not re—instate the system. When the issues were resolved some of the major online poker rooms continued to offer this helpful and convenient service as the perfect alternative to credit card deposits.
We will be keeping you updated on this hot issue.
