Recently Bwin and PartyGaming have announced that longtime rumors of a merger between the company are officially true. Both online gaming giants will come together to form the largest listed online gaming company in the world netting a worth of an estimated $4 billion. The merger will also create a unified corporation that will have the power to dominate Internet poker, casino, sportsbetting, and bingo across Europe, as well as be in the position to join in a regulated US market, should one ever develop.

September is officially National Poker Month, and casinos and poker rooms across the US will be recognizing the game by hosting tournaments all month long that give half of their prize pools to charity organized in part by Poker Gives. Charitable recipients include Special Olympics of Nevada, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Step by Step Foundation, and Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.

In honor of Phil Laak’s recent ATV accident earlier this month, unabomberpoker.com, owned by Phil “the unabomber” Laak, has launched a promotion. In hopes to rally Laak’s recuperation, the online poker site will host the Unabomber Bounty Freeroll. The prize for wiping out Laak is a Unabomber Hoodie, autographed of course by Laak, himself.
