On the heels of a recent deal between the Cake Poker Network and Victory Poker, the emerging online poker room network has announced that they have set in motion a project that will allow them to host a US-based tribal poker website, the first of its kind.
Last Wednesday, the Atlantis Group made arrangements with the Cake Poker Network that would allow the network to legally operate on US soil within the confines of a Native American reservation, where many land-based casinos currently exist. It seems like a no-brainer that the first US-based online poker room would pop up on a Native American reservation.
As part of the Tribal Gaming Network, the group will have the authorization to host online poker games in 30+ states.
“The Indian version of the CGN, termed ‘Tribal Gaming Network’ is a direct and legitimate solution to the Indian casino at national level by providing the largest network of online poker in the United States; It is a landmark agreement for ATIG and Cake as they will offer a direct solution t to the tribes and states facing economic problems at national level,” says Donald Bailey, CEO Atlantis Group.
This is a step in the right direction for proponents of the regulation and legalization of online gambling in the US. It makes possible the taxation on online gambling for the benefit of the US and an economy boost for an otherwise suffering economy instead of losing billions of dollars in untaxed revenue to foreign nations.
