Industry leading online poker sites, Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker, have promised their players a wealthy year with a one million dollar prize pool for the year 2010 via their leaderboard competition series.
These leaderboard races run weekly, monthly, and yearly and feature tournaments with buy-ins ranging from low to high. The top yearly winner will win a $20K prize package at the end of the year.
Annie Duke, Ultimate Bet Cardroom Consultant, says, “We’ve revamped our leaderboard systems to make them more accessible for all players so that everyone has a fairer chance to win in a big way.” She continues, “UltimateBet.com and AbsolutePoker.com continue to be a top choice for the world’s best poker players and a magnet for a growing number of young and emerging online poker guns. With one million dollars on the table in this year’s leaderboard competitions, expect the Cereus Poker Network to be an even more exciting place for poker fans to park their chips.”
The Multi-Table Tournament Leaderboard contest $20K prize package will include a $10K buy-in to the WSOP in addition to a $5,500 seat at the Aruba Poker Classic, plus $4,500 in tournament dollars. Also, the top 50 players of the year will earn the privilege of participating in an exclusive tournament. The last three finishers in this event will each win a package worth $8,500 that includes buy-in to the Aruba Poker Classic, as well. Fourth and fifth places will receive $5,500 to buy into the main event.
Each winner of the monthly Multi-Table Tournament Leaderboard challenges will also get a $6,500 Aruba package with buy-in plus $1,000 in travel expenses. Second through tenth places will divvy up the remaining $7,500 in prizes that will be awarded every month.
And as if that wasn’t enough, $1,000 in tourney dollars will be given out to each weekly Multi-Table Tournament Leaderboard that will begin in February. During January, Ultimate Bet will also be paying out weekly tournament leaderboard winners with $1,050 buy-ins to their Online Poker Championship that will start Wednesday. In addition, weekly sit & go winners at Diamond, Heart, and Spade levels will also earn seats to the OPC.
