Poker Star’s $1,500,000 Guaranteed weekly tournament, a.k.a. the Sunday Million, is one of the biggest online tournaments you will find. Every weekend, first place gets $150K, sometimes even more. The buy-in is $200 + $15, or you can win a satellite if you’d rather get in that way. You can find this tournament under the “Tourney” then “Special” tabs in the PS lobby. This event starts at 16:30 ET on Sundays.
PokerStars is very proud of their players and when you make it to the final table, you’ll be congratulated personally by the PS rep on hand, who will be there to facilitate any final table deals (deals must be made outside of the $30K guaranteed to the tournament champion).

If you want to try out a satellite for this event, go to the PS lobby, and highlight the scheduled Sunday Millions tournament (don’t open the Sunday Millions box). To the right of the tourney list, you will see a small link to “Satellites for this tournament.” A list will open up of all the scheduled (and completed) satellites for the tournament. From here you can go straight to the tournament registration.
These qualifiers range from double and triple shoutouts to turbos to re-buys. There are up to 60 satellites every day for this tournament that run up until two hours before the main event. You can also get in on a Sunday Millions Sit & Go satellite. Qualifiers start at a few dollars or around 500 Frequent Player Points (FPPs) and a VIP Platinum satellite will cost you 2500 FPPs. You can also win a seat the Sunday Million, automatically, for every 13,500 FPPs you generate. So, there are lots of chances to win a spot at this huge weekly Poker Stars event.
If you are looking for a place to gather with thousands of other online poker players, who are all competing for the same $1.5 million, you will love the Sunday Million. But if you still aren’t sure, you can always start out at the Poker Stars Sunday Warmup that starts at 12:45 with a guaranteed prize pool of $750K+. A little bit less intimidating is the Poker Stars Sunday Two Hundred Grand with a buy-in of only $10 + $1, which begins at 15:30 ET. Satellites for this tourney start at as little as 70 FPPs or $2 + $0.20.
The bottom line is, no matter what level of player you are, in terms of experience, stakes, etc., you will find a tournament that suits you, or a satellite at least. There are just so many opportunities at Poker Stars that if you aren’t playing you feel like you’re missing out.
