Kill Everyone by Lee Nelson - Poker Book Review

Kill EveryoneFor those of you who have the idea that Kill Everyone is a hateful little book about murder you are not entirely correct. The book is about murder, but on the poker tables. Lee Nelson has come up with a masterpiece of a book that is entitled Kill Everyone and it will help teach you to kill everyone on the poker tables.

Kill Everyone is a sequel to the book Kill Phil. Kill Phil didn’t see too much hype, but Kill Everyone has received plenty of attention. Blair Rodman wrote Kill Phil, the beginning to the series, but it wasn’t until Nelson wrote the second book in the series with such an off the wall name that credibility was earned. Kill Phil was geared towards helping the standard player to do better in live events where there are a lot of internet qualifiers and randomly poker pros. It teaches a style of play that pulls these players out of their comfort zone. Kill Phil was geared in a specific direction while Kill Everyone was aimed in a direction that any player could take something from the literature and apply it with a paste.

Kim Lee and Tyson Streib both offer a lot to the book as additional authors even though the book was written by Nelson. The majority of the mathematics that are in the text were added by Kim Lee and Tyson Streib. Kim Lee is a college professor of math and Streib has written many articles for 2+2 magazine. The arithmetic of poker is very important to hold a solid edge over your opponent and these authors help Nelson to better specify that.

Kill Everyone is written almost entirely about multiple table tournaments(MTTs) and sit-n-gos(SNGs). There is a section at the end of the book about cash games written by Mark Vos, but other than that it is entirely MTT and SNG based. This is good for the reader because all of the theory in the book is applicable to what the reader is looking for. The book is so specific to MTTs and SNGs that I would highly recommend a cash game player to not even pick the book up.

One of the best features about Kill Everyone by Lee Nelson is that the text never floats away from no limit hold’em. I have found that in a lot of other poker books that there will be a main game that the writer will talk about, but then in certain situations it comes off as the writer couldn’t come up with anything on the game they have been talking about so they will just randomly throw in a different game which can pull the reader off course when wondering why they are all of a sudden talking about backgammon.

Kill Everyone by Lee Nelson is a book that anyone who will ever play an MTT or SNG should read. Nelson delivers the goods when it comes to tips on survival in these types of events. The deeper you go in these events the more money you will make. Read Kill Everyone by Lee Nelson today and start killing everyone who sits down at your poker table!
