PokerStars have recently introduced a new type of Sit & Go tournaments called Steps. These are qualifiers to land based tournaments and you can start playing for as little as $7.50 or 500 FPPs. There are 6 steps that you need to go through in order to win the grand prize which differs depending on what kind of steps tournaments you are playing. These Sit and Go are played with 9 players at the table.
We will show an example of how it works; in this example the grand prize is a seat to the WSOP Main event.
WSOP Step 1 – Buy in cost $7.50 or 500 FPP
1st and 2nd place goes through to Step 2. 3rd place gets a new chance at Step 1. 4th place get $1.50.
WSOP Step 2 – Buy in cost $27 or 1750 FPP
1st and 2nd place goes through to Step 3. 3rd and 4th Gets a new chance at Step 2. 5th place gets a new chance at Step 1.
WSOP Step 3 – Buy in cost $82 or 5125 FPP
1st and 2nd place goes through to Step 4. 3rd, 4th and 5th gets a new chance at Step 3.
WSOP Step 4 – Buy in cost $215 or 13 500 FPP
1st and 2nd place goes through to Step 5. 3rd gets a new chance at Step 4. 4th and 5th gets a new chance at Step 3. 6th gets a new chance at Step 2.
WSOP Step 5 – Buy in cost $700
1st and second place goes through to Step 6. 3rd and 4th gets a new chance at Step 5. 5th and 6th gets a new chance at Step 4.
WSOP Step 6 – Buy in cost $2100
1st place gets a $12 500 WSOP Main Event Package. 2nd and 3rd gets $1500. 4th and 5th gets $1000. 6th gets $500.
PokerStars also offer Step Qualifiers to many other land based tournaments such as the European Poker Tour and World Poker Tour.
