Member of the Brunson 10, Chris Moorman has started out the year with a bang, winning his 11th Triple Crown in 2011. The PocketFives.com Triple Crown is given to any online poker player who has won three individual poker tourneys on three separate poker sites within a one-week period.
The Brunson 10 is an elite group of online poker players who serve as the professional team over at Doyles Room. This group of players is hand selected by Doyle Brunson himself, who obviously knew what he was doing when he picked Moorman to represent his poker website.
Moorman won the first tournament on January 11th when he took down the $50K Guarantee and pocketed $15K. Seven days later, he won a $50 Re-buy tourney and a $60K Guarantee, which together netted another $32K in winnings for him.
Now Moorman has more than $5.4 million in live and online poker earnings, and he is one of the most consistent winners in online poker today. He has ranked very highly over the last few years.
For those who will be waiting patiently for the 12th Triple Crown, sit tight, as Moorman is in the 2011 Aussie Millions Main Event which began on the 23rd in Melbourne, Australia. He is expected to get pretty far in this live tournament, one of the most prestigious live events in the business. It will take place at the Crown Casino and run through the 29th. While Moorman is a force to be feared for sure, poker bookies have been taking bets on the winner of the Main Event. Phil Ivey is favored along with Gus Hansen. Patrik Antonius is also a favorite, along with Annette Obrestad, who placed 7th last year. This will be the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest poker tournament in terms of prize pool, which will exceed AU$7 million. Last year, Tyron Krost from Australia walked with the title and a $2 million prize purse.
