Actress and model turned professional poker player Shannon Elizabeth was recently signed by Carbon Poker as their latest poker pro representative. As part of the agreement announced Carbon Poker, “Shannon Elizabeth is coming aboard to represent us at live tournaments, play against Carbon players, and even contribute to the blog.”
Shannon Elizabeth is expected to play regularly at the Carbon Poker site as well as create and facilitate Carbon Poker marketing campaigns in which she will be featured. Carbon Poker Spokesperson Peter Hampton said, “We’ve been on the hunt for a face for our brand who is a recognized star and also a respected member of the poker community. Shannon easily meets both criteria, and offers a creative edge that we’re thrilled to have on board. We’re launching several promotions that will involve players playing against Shannon and getting to know her both inside and outside of poker.”
Shannon’s career began on the big screen having worked on various movies including hilarious comedies American Pie and American Pie 2, television comedy That 70s Show, poker thriller The Grand, reality television show Dancing With the Stars, and many others. Her poker career, which she’s dubbed her “second career,” includes numerous cashes at several World Series of Poker events; a third place finish at NBC’s National Heads Up Championship poker event, and she represented Team Lebanon at a World Team Poker Event. Shannon is also a fixture in Las Vegas visiting several times a month to play in various poker games around town with top players in the U.S.
Carbon Poker has also stated that Shannon Elizabeth is part of a long-term campaign to become one of the top 10 online poker sites by 2011. Shannon’s role as representative is to help make the site better by attracting new players and encouraging loyalty by current players.
In the near future, expect to see Shannon Elizabeth decked out in Carbon Poker gear in addition to frequenting the tables, tourneys, blog, and twitter.
