PartyPoker’s Big Game IV has been announced and it will take place in Mayfair, London at the Les Ambassadeurs Club in from April 11th through 13th. Sponsored by PartyPoker and Matchroom Sport, Big Game IV promises to be one of the most acclaimed poker cash games to ever air on television.
To generate more buzz, they have also announced that an invitation has been sent to the high stakes poker online phenomenon, Isildur1. If he shows up, this will be the first live event he’s attended as the anonymous poker player from Sweden, who no one can manage to pin a name on, and this won’t be the first time he’s been invited out. Tom “durrr” Dwan invited him to London last year, but Isildur1 was a no show. Tony G. has even offered to stake Isildur1 in the game, as he and many others know what a show it would truly be if Isildur1 showed up.
Other confirmed players include Phil “Unabomber” Laak with girlfriend, Jennifer Tilly, Tony G., Isaac Haxton, Luke “Full Flush” Schwartz, and Neil Channing.
Event organizers are even contemplating how they could work with Isildur1 to keep his identity secret. Eddie Hearn, managing director for Matchroom Sport, said, “We have been in contact with Isildur1 and would love him to join the game. If he wants we will even make special arrangements so that he doesn’t have to reveal his identity to anyone. We are quite happy to let him play wearing a mask or in disguise.”
Now that’s just weird.
The Big Game IV has added a feature that allows players the opportunity to “evict” another player, replacing them with a new player every two hours. While this show is already very popular in London, it’s built on bringing in colorful personalities to make for new and entertaining poker TV, like Isildur1.
