In answer to PokerStars’ Big Game televised poker show, Full Tilt Poker has introduced a new poker how of its own, The Poker Lounge. The Poker Lounge features some of the biggest poker players in the world of professional poker playing high-stakes poker and broadcasts it all on television. Full Tilt players will now have the chance to appear on this show, which pays out $120K to the first place winner (winner takes all).
You can only get your tickets through Full Tilt Poker, though. Now through July 4th, 2010, you can compete in the Poker Lounge Freeroll Qualifiers, for as low as $10, that award players the opportunity to go on and earn a $22K prize package—one of the biggest prize packages ever! This whopping package includes the massive $20K buy in for the live poker event as well as $2K for spending money and travel costs. This is some pretty exciting high-stakes action. If you’ve been looking to step into the high-stakes poker scene, this would be a great place to start—especially if your staked by Full Tilt Poker!
The Poker Lounge will film in London and air on Channel 4 every week between June 21st through August 23rd. Filming will take place in two parts—from May 14th to May 16th and from July 24th through July 25th. Each of the 10 matches to air will pit a Full Tilt player qualifier up against one of five top pros from Team Full Tilt who will include Gus Hansen, Phil Ivey, and others.
You can find The Poker Lounge Freeroll Qualifiers in the Full Tilt lobby under “Tournaments” then “Live Events.” These events are shaded green. If you don’t satellite in to one of these qualifiers which take place on Sundays at 19:30 GMT, you can purchase a direct buy-in for $640.
